Description
The "Callicarpa americana", also called the "American Beautyberry" and "French mulberry" by locals, is quite common throughout the Ozark Mountains and Arkansas River Valley. The shrub's foliage is a favorite feast for the Whitetail Deer which are plentiful throughout the region. The seeds and berries are also an important food source for the many types of birds in the area.
